Dalí’s Basket of Bread looks good enough to eat, no? 🍞
In addition to marking a major turning point in the artist’s career, this artwork includes a key symbol often used by the artist, Bread. In his early work, it is defined as a staple of life of the Catalan people. In his Surrealist work, it is a fetish. In his later work, it is a Catholic reference to the Eucharist (the body of Christ).
