#DidYouKnow Salvador Dalí dabbled in impressionism? 🎨
In 1922, Dalí was inspired to paint "Portdogué and Mount Paní from Ayuntamiento." The rich palette Dalí uses here was derived from such impressionistic work as "Vétheuil" painted by Claude Monet.
In a letter to his uncle, young Dalí admitted that he admired the great French Impressionists. He had changed his technique and adopted a much lighter palette than the strong reds and blues he had formerly used.
Every budding artist needs inspiration! Happy birthday to French artist and father of impressionist painting,
#ClaudeMonet.
