At Tampa Theatre, the need created by the ongoing COVID closure cannot be overstated, but the good news is that our re-opening plan has finally come into focus! Major upgrades to our HVAC and air handling system are underway, including a new bipolar ionization unit and a new air handler to increase the amount of fresh air circulating in the building. The total cost for this project is $525,000 - about half of which will be covered by the CARES Act grant voted by the Hillsborough County Board of County commissioners. On DEC 1, our #GivingTuesday2020 goal will be to underwrite the remaining costs so we can re-open safely and serve our community again! Those who give at levels of $25 and above will receive free popcorn and a to-go signature cocktail, and those donating at $50 and above be entered to win great Theatre prizes like annual Memberships, Ghost Tours and portrait packages.
