Here are the top 5 things I would NEVER do knowing what I do as a dermatologist.
1. Liquid Rhinoplasty: Both for myself and my patients. Many tout these as 'magical' nonsurgical nose jobs, but there is a BIG risk of things going very wrong.
2. Cutting my cuticles: At home or the nail salon, cutting your cuticles can lead to some nasty infections (I've seen it all).
3. Popping a pimple: There are so many reasons not to do this one, but for starters, it causes post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which are those dark marks or spots left behind after a pimple heals (& is especially visible in darker skin tones). Often, they can be even more aggravating and distressing than pimples themselves. (I know—it's awful!)
4. Skipping sunscreen: Sunscreen is so important to protect your skin from premature aging and against skin cancer, but only if you're actually wearing it all day, every day!
