🌳 🧠 The Joy Evans Therapeutic Recreation Center in Washington, D.C., is a place where #biophilic and #neuroinclusive #design principles merge. Through a robust design process with therapeutic and sensory design expert Amy Wagenfeld | Design and landscape architecture firm Carvalho and Good, we realized a design that is as responsive as it is consistent. This journey started with D.C.’s Department of General Services and Department of Parks and Recreation who sought to transform this aging 1970s-era facility into a “place of health, inclusion, and connection.” Now open, it’s serving the Ward 7 community with equitable pathways for physical, cognitive, and emotional wellness. There are so many details to discover here – dig in at our link in bio.
