TARWUK: ‘There is no division of labour, we do everything together and for the most part we will work on the pieces themselves at the same time.’ Foregoing their individual identities to inhabit a single artistic entity, TARWUK refer to the 1960s and ’70s avant-garde collectives of their native, former Yugoslavia, for whom collaboration was both method and ideology. Driven by an enquiry into the boundaries of the self, TARWUK is firstly a ‘research into selfhood’, an experimental union that strains the limit of what artmaking can be. 📍View new works by the artist-duo at White Cube’s booth (105) at The Armory Show in New York until 7 September 2025.
