In Focus: Etel Adnan, ‘Parc En Été’ (2021) at Frieze Seoul In addition to her painting, drawing and written work, Adnan began producing tapestries in the 1960s. Influenced by the colour and texture of the Persian rugs from her childhood, Adnan’s tapestries attest to her sensory use of colour and shape to create abstract compositions. ‘Parc En Été’ (2021) was produced in collaboration with the renowned tapestry mill Atelier Pinton in France. Woven in a "basse-lisse" technique, where the warp extends horizontally between the rolls, the tapestry features bright colours composed of different tones to bring depth and vibration to the work.
