Angela Rayner has resigned as UK housing secretary and deputy prime minister after failing to pay enough tax on her £800,000 flat in East Sussex.
In her resignation letter, she said she takes "full responsibility" for the "error" of not seeking further tax advice on the purchase.
Rayner had been on the Labour frontbenches since 2015 and took on her government jobs in July 2024, when Labour won the general election.
