Our theme for this week's #GivingEveryTuesday is giving your skills. Let's take a look at microvolunteering, a simple idea that offers volunteers a series of easy tasks that can be done anytime, anywhere, on your own terms. The demand for short-term flexible volunteering opportunities seems to be increasing because of busy, unpredictable lifestyles, as well as pandemic related restrictions to traditional volunteering. Microvolunteering can happen online or offline though: baking a cake for a charity sale, distributing leaflets or planting a tree are all examples. How to do it: Check out apps like bemyeyesapp, charitymiles, Skills for Change or campaigns like #2MinuteBeachClean. Know of others? Pop em in the comments! Be sure to also check in with your favorite nonprofit to see if you can get added to their crew of passionate, but time-strapped, micro-volunteers!
