“In the beginning, we really didn’t know what we wanted to be. We met really frequently in person and I really credit that to a lot of what created the foundation that our team has now. We really built a lot of friendships and connections to each other in that way. But the main thing to our work was figuring out what actually was needed in our area. …One of the things that really changed for us was talking with an interfaith group in the area that had a small fund for people seeking an abortion. And something they said to us was, we have this little budget that we can help people with. And what we DON’T have is any ride. Or any way of getting people to appointments. Or places for them to stay. There were a lot of requests for that. And so we said, oh we can do that!
