Shout Your Abortion’s admin assistant and organizing director attended @sistersong_woc ‘s Let’s Talk About Sex conference and were part of a truly transformative experience. The event offered powerful reflections on identity and the future of reproductive justice, particularly for Black women in the movement. Activists, abortion and birth doulas, and Loretta Ross and Dr. Tony Bond, founding mothers of the Reproductive Justice, gathered to share knowledge and inspire hope for where we’re headed. One of the most talked-about sessions, “This Ass is Magic: The Black Feminist Power of Twerking,” explored twerking as a revolutionary act for Black women to reclaim their space, agency, and joy—while challenging respectability politics and processing trauma in ways that can lead to liberation. To top off the event, icon Lil’ Kim delivered an electrifying performance, leaving everyone feeling empowered and further reinforcing the powerful, unapologetic spirit of the conference.
