✨Part 2 (see previous slide for Part 1) ✨ This month SYA is honored to be highlighting the Reproductive Justice framework—what it is, the people who are living this work, and why it matters for *all* of us. In part, SYA is working to normalize abortion because shame is toxic and eliminating shame in ones’ own life is liberating. But we’re also fighting to normalize abortion because we refuse to live in a world where reproductive freedom is only enjoyed by people of privilege, and that is exactly where we are living today. Those fighting to eliminate abortion access are fighting to keep white supremacy intact. Marginalized ppl—especially BIPOC ppl—face completely different barriers to reproductive freedom than middle class white women do. SYA is fighting to normalize abortion because abortion bans are racist, the fight for repro freedom is a fight for racial justice, and white supremacy must be destroyed. See Part 3 for continuation!
