I wanted to put the child up for adoption. Eric wanted me to have an abortion. It was a long loving and difficult conversation. At the end, we decided to have an abortion. This was 2003. We went to Planned Parenthood. We sat in the counseling room while they explained our options to us including adoption. I chose the medical abortion. The next day I took the abortion pill with Eric by my side. We sat in my tiny Baltimore apartment bathroom. Me on the toilet and Eric rubbing my back, telling me how strong and brave I was, and just holding me while I cried. We sat there for almost 12 hours in that tiny bathroom.
