Meet Hathor. The goddess Hathor, a sky deity associated with love and fertility, is among the divinities who frequently appear in Nubian jewelry. Her iconic crown is composed of a sun disk framed by cow’s horns. A temple to Hathor stood at the sacred mountain of Gebel Barkal, near the Nubian city of Napata, where she was worshipped as a consort of the supreme god Amun. Here, you can see her on three different jewelry items. First, a bracelet with a variety of colorful enameling techniques and gold appliques, found in a royal woman’s tomb near Gebel Barkal.
