Two new archives joined the Getty Research Institute's collection this week! The Richard Hunt Archive contains the entirety of his papers, photographs, letters, and sketches that trace the arc of his career and contribution to art history as an important figure in African American art history and Civil Rights-era action. The Evangeline J. Montgomery Archive dates from the 1970s and contains her collection of nearly 600 books, as well as catalogs, correspondence, and other forms of ephemera and documentary photography spanning her career as a curator, cultural worker, and advocate for African American art.
