Let's talk medieval fashion. Creative interpretations of medieval dress appear in everything from 17th-century genealogical manuscripts to designs for 20th-century movies. Artists achieved the illusion of medieval dress by including believable headdresses and draping or by copying and altering images from medieval manuscripts. These interpretations led to the creation of characters who could be identified by their costumes, like the knight in the third image, the lady, the lord, and the villagers. Gleaming armor, swooping sleeves, and pointed shoes all helped bring the Middle Ages to life.
