Where did Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, and Bing Crosby buy records in the '40s and '50s? These stars and even John Doe, co-founder of xthebandofficial, shopped at Wallichs Music City in Hollywood, CA. Music City pioneered the modern record store as a social experience. While other stores kept records behind glass and under lock and key, Wallichs was the first to allow customers to thumb through the vinyl themselves.
