Have you ever seen a movie at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood?
Through Ed Ruscha's archive and the
#12Sunsets website, you can travel back in time to see what movies were screened in this iconic theater.
Since 1963, the Cinerama Dome has projected films on its uniquely wide screen. At the time of opening it was the world's largest contoured motion picture screen in the world, measuring 32 feet high by 86 feet wide.
Here Ruscha captures which films were screened each time he documented Sunset Boulevard: The Day of the Jackal (1973), Zandy's Bride (1974), Back to the Future (1985), Arachnophobia (1990), Apollo 13 (1995), G.I. Jane (1997), The Parent Trap (1998), and Hostel II (2007).
