Ed Ruscha’s photographs of the iconic Los Angeles street are now available to view, and cruise through, on the new website “12 Sunsets.” In 1966, Ed Ruscha used a motorized camera affixed to the back of a pickup truck to methodically photograph every building on the Sunset Strip for a book appropriately titled “Every Building on the Sunset Strip.” Over the course of 50 years, Ruscha returned to the 22-mile stretch (from Downtown LA to the beach) on 12 separate occasions, documenting the changing cityscape.
