They might look similar, but some “teethers” aren’t actually firm enough to give your baby something to gnaw on and feel relief when their teeth are cutting through. They’re more like a pacifier, which can generally help soothe your baby, but might not be enough to relieve teething discomfort. Try to find a teether that’s made of BPA-free silicone or a similar material that’s firm enough to hold up against their bite, but not too hard to hurt their gums.
