This month’s Buy 1 Give 1 donation will be going to Help A Mother Out. Their mission is to provide families, who otherwise couldn't afford it, with a reliable supply of clean diapers. The organization started in 2009, during the peak of the Great Recession. Friends Lisa Truong and Rachel Fudge reached out to their local shelters to help. While volunteering, they discovered that the number one needed item wasn’t food or clothing, but diapers. Amazed at how such an essential item wasn’t covered by food stamp programs, the two set out to collect donated diapers on their own. Since their first drive, the organization has collected and donated an astonishing 1,388,872 diapers. While providing needy families diapers is their primary goal, their secondary goal is to cement the bond between these families and their communities.
