It took 42 years, 7 months, and 16 days for the constitutional amendment granting a woman’s right to vote to be ratified. Only 6 countries (out of 187 measured) offer equal legal work rights to women. At the current rate of progress, it will take another 108 years to reach gender parity. Women represent 47% of the U.S. workforce but hold only 24 spots on the Fortune 500 list of CEOs. And on average, women still only earn 80 cents to a man's dollar.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ This year, #InternationalWomensDay calls for #BalanceforBetter: “The world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence.” Progress is present. The gender pay gap is gradually closing. But absence is felt in another, less obvious light.
