We’ve become #obsessed with #hygiene. 🚿 We live in a #culture that encourages being squeaky #clean—from our #hands, to our #countertops, to our #children. We’ve congregated towards densely populated #cities 🏭 distancing ourselves from the #abundant #microbial #diversity found in #nature and our #soil 🌳🌱. Our fear of the unknown has prompted reckless overuse of #antibiotics and #antibacterials in our #bodies and our #food.⠀ ⠀ In our efforts to #purify and sterilize, this #germophobia has unknowingly caused catastrophic problems for our microbial #ecosystems.⠀
