To shellebrate African Penguin Awareness Day, we're bringing back Penguin Progress Reports 🐧 🐧 October's OUTSTANDING Penguin is Sam. This is Sam's first breeding season and he's proven to be an eggcellent mate. He relieves his girlfriend, Bixby, of her incubation duties and keeps her company on the nest box when he's not designated egg sitter. He even comes to feedings when called by name. 🐧 Danny NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. This breeding season, Danny left his longtime mate Malloy for single lady Brecken. He then set up each lady's nest boxes so they would be side by side and divides his time between the two. If that wasn't enough to ruffle feathers, Danny has bullied OUTSTANDING Penguin Sam into leaving his nest box so Danny can have it for his main chick and side chick.
