HOW TO DO A PROPER SQUAT 🍑
You see young kids drop into a squat all the time without even thinking about it as they play, move and negotiate their world, but as we get older we can develop incorrect form, putting strain on the wrong parts of our body during a squat, that can put our bodies at risk of injury and damage.
The
#squat is a foundational move for training, for all the variations and intensities, it is always good to return to basics now and then to make sure you’re keeping proper form and improving the functionality and ability of your body, not eroding it.
Shall we?
1. Stand with feet a little wider than hip-width, toes facing front
2. Drive your hips back, bending at the knees and pressing your knees slightly open
3. Sink into squat position while keeping your heels and toes on the ground, chest up and shoulders back
4. Sink into 90-degree angle
5. Press into heels and straighten legs in upright position
