I think about the computer and video games I used to play as a kid, how certain options and movements would be in grey until you ‘unlocked’ them. To walk into that building, to talk to that person, to do that thing. And the point of the game was to unlock new options, new experiences, new levels. And then I kind of think about how much I get tunnel vision in my every day life, that same coffee shop, that same route for my morning walk, the same exercises, the same people that feel ‘safe’ to me. And it’s not that that’s wrong, its just that if we find ourselves feeling frustrated, feeling stuck, sometimes we need to remember there are so many opportunities a day to unlock something new from the world, or in ourselves, if we’re open to it. A conversation with a stranger, a new coffee shop, a new challenge, a new passion.
