Meet the Swallowtail… Named after its swallow-like tails, the distinctive red and blue ‘false eyes’ are nature’s clever way of deceiving. It confuses predators by giving the illusion of a butterfly with two heads. Adults begin to emerge from May-June, so be on the lookout around any sites with lots of milk parsley. #UKNature
