🎉Important policy news alert!🎉 Last year at COP26, 145 countries pledged to halt and reverse forest loss by 2030. Yesterday, at #COP27, a group of more than 20 countries launched the Forest and Climate Leaders Partnership (FCLP). We welcome this news. Let’s dive into what it means! The FCLP consists of Government leaders, engaging with companies, and Indigenous Peoples. Yesterday, they joined together for the first time to turn last year’s COP26 pledges into action to halt and reverse forest loss by 2030. The member countries account for 33% of the world’s forests and 50% of the world’s GDP. The group will provide a space for innovation and problem solving. They will shine a spotlight on progress towards the nature pledges made at COP26, each year till 2030.
