What do our friends at RSPB Scotland call a curlew? They're known as ‘whaups’, ‘whaaps’, ‘whaps’, ‘willie-whaups’ or ‘whittericks’! Their beaks are called ‘whaup-nebs’ or ‘whaap-nebs’, and to make their calls is to ‘wheeple’, ‘whipple’ or ‘willie-whae’!
You can help save curlews by preordering a copy of the new album, "Simmerdim: Curlew Sounds", at the link in our bio 💙
