Ever heard of a zombie snail? š§āāļøšš±
This weird and spooky phenomenon occurs when a parasitic worm called a Leucochloridium takes over a snails motor functions. By filling the eye stalks of the snail and moving wildly, the worm makes the snail look like a caterpillar, so birds will be more likely to eat them. The worm can then reproduce in the bird's gastrointestinal tract, eventually transmitting via its faeces!
