It's #WorldRainforestDay and we wanted to take this time to celebrate Gola Rainforest in Sierra Leone — home to many endangered species, as well as over 300 bird and 600 butterfly species. 🦋🦜🌳🌿 For 30 years, we've been involved with Gola, addressing deforestation and biodiversity loss. Commodities like cocoa can be drivers for destructive deforestation, so we collaborated with Gola farmers to create Gola Rainforest chocolate project. The cocoa is grown in harmony with the forest, on sustainable, ethical farms run by local, indigenous communities. Selling these chocolate bars helps the communities to build a profitable business, ensuring the protection of the rainforest and all the species that call it home.
