Today at the first ever #BiodiversitySummit at #UNGA, world leaders committed to tackling the #NatureCrisis - because it's clear that urgent action #ForNature is needed. Boris Johnson made his statement on behalf of the UK, saying “The natural life that so enriches our planet today is declining at a pace that is truly terrifying”. “Upset the delicate balance of nature that has been achieved over tens of millions of years and the consequences can be catastrophic for the economy, the climate, food security and public health”. We welcome the commitments that have been announced in tackling the nature & climate crisis in the UK – we want and need the PM to be successful in delivering them but as he also says “we need more than good intentions”. #TheTimeIsNow that these words are backed up by actions – and bound by law.
