We’re campaigning for a green recovery from #COVID19 - but what does that mean? Lockdown has impacted our economy as many businesses were forced to temporarily close. As restrictions start to ease, Governments and local councils are making plans to restart our economy - and to do this they must invest. A #GreenRecovery is one where the Government prioritises: 🍃 nature ☀️ climate 🙌 and people. This means investing in renewable energy, public transport (including walking and cycling) and restoring natural areas. All these industries will create thousands of new jobs and ensure that the world we rebuild is sustainable and benefits everyone! Green recovery means NOT investing in industries which are harmful to the planet, and making these industries agree to emissions reduction and net zero targets before they get financial support.
