Welcome to day 3 of our #25DaysofPhotographers Advent Calendar! Today we are focusing on Steve Everett, aka Whistling Joe! "I started visiting the local RSPB Minsmere nature reserve as a way to unwind from a stressful day at work. It coincided with me purchasing a digital camera after many years of using film and all that wildlife gave me something new and exciting to take pictures of. The more pictures I take, the more I realise how little I know about my subjects and that has led to hours of research and learning – which I now share with other visitors as a volunteer guide. This Stonechat was taken on a cold day as I was walking along Minsmere’s North Wall path. I always find that the best opportunities turn up when everyone else thinks you’re mad to be outside and they always make my day!"
