Very excited to be working with the Tristan da Cunha Government and National Geographic Pristine Seas on a joint marine expedition next year. Tristan da Cunha is a UK Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic, and the most remote inhabited island in the world. The RSPB has been working with the community for over a decade. We’re helping safeguard their globally significant populations of Atlantic yellow-nosed albatross (pictured here), northern rockhopper penguins, subantarctic fur seals, tuna, dolphins, whales and sharks. The expedition will help inform the Tristan community in their work to create a locally-lead and science-based regime for protection in the enormously rich waters of their entire 750,000km2 marine zone. natgeopristineseas
