In a Wednesday letter addressed to state officials, University of California President J.B. Milliken warned of a “distinct possibility” of a major attack on university federal funding. As first reported by the LA Times, Milliken’s letter, which was addressed Wednesday to Senator Scott Weiner as Chair of the state Joint Legislative Budget Committee, warned of a systemwide funding slash. Milliken told legislators that the UC would need “$4-5 billion” annually to minimize the impact of lost federal funds.
