This week, we saw the first ever Miss Universe Latina crowned ✨Dominicana Yamilex Hernández took home the crown, dedicating her win to all Latines out there. The 29-year old beat out 29 pageant contestants on Telemundo’s “Miss Universe Latina, El Reality.” Hernandez earned a degree in communication and resides in New Jersey. Prior to Miss Universe Latina, she participated in Miss Dominican Republic twice, finishing as first runner-up in 2023. “I won, but not because I was perfect. I won because I was real.
