After the small town of Hunt, Texas was devastated by the deadly July 4th floods in the state, World Central Kitchen has teamed with Austin-based Mexican restaurant La Santa Barbacha and the Hunt Store, a local business that has served the community for 80 years, to provide those affected with free hot meals. Through these partnerships, the nonprofit has served thousands of meals like chicken fajitas to families affected by the disaster and offered support during their time of need.
“When disaster strikes, comfort meals fuel more than the body, they fuel the heart,” World Central Kitchen wrote on X. “These comforting, locally made meals can help the community heal together.”
