Yes, you’re seeing that correctly. La Casa Loca in Guatavita is an upside-down house that has become one of the most visited tourist attractions in Colombia. Built in 2015 by Austrian architect Fritz Schall, the house sits on the top of its roof, tilted five degrees to the left and five degrees to the back, and opened to the public around 2022. Stepping inside, visitors immediately notice that all the furniture in the house, including tables, beds, and chairs, are upside down as well, confusing the brain and the senses and making it difficult to walk around without stumbling.
“When you go in, we say ‘please stay still’... you may feel vertigo… fatigue… a weird sensation,” Schall told Telemundo in 2022.
