Chicano designer Willy Chavarría made a powerful statement alongside Maluma at the 2025 Met Gala, which had the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The California-born designer, who has often referenced Chicano style and culture in his past runway collections, wore a Pachuco-inspired look featuring a double breasted pink suit with a detailed green tie and wide brimmed hat. In an interview with WWD, Chavarría said: “...The Pachuco look is quintessential dandy from the 30’s and 40’s representing Latinos and Black people who dressed as a form of resistance to the beauty, so I hope to encapsulate that.”
