Latin American music, culture, and stories matter now more than ever, and on the heels of the upcoming “Selena y los Dinos” documentary, Netflix Latinoamérica has announced the release of two new documentaries about iconic Mexican singer and songwriter Juan Gabriel and Brazilian superstar Anitta coming in 2025. On January 30, Netflix released the teaser trailer for “Juan Gabriel: la serie documental,” directed by Mexican filmmaker María José Cuevas, which gives audiences an unprecedented glimpse into intimate moments from the iconic Divo de Juárez’ life through never-before-seen archival footage, personal recordings, and testimonies from his loved ones. The teaser trailer shows Juan Gabriel, born Alberto Aguilera, in his private moments as a father and artist through snippets of archival videos recorded in the ‘70s by Juanga himself.
