We love to see Latinas make history in politics ❤️ On Friday, January 3, Rep. Emily Randall (D-Wash.) was sworn into the 119th Congress, becoming the first out queer Latina in Congress and first out queer person to represent Washington at the federal level. Hailing from Bremerton, Randall was initially elected to the Washington state Senate in 2018 by 102 votes after being inspired to run for office following the 2016 election of Donald Trump. Now, she will represent Washington’s 6th Congressional District, which covers the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas and Mason and Grays Harbor counties. Before entering politics, Randall was a community organizer and advocate that worked to expand access to affordable healthcare for all. According to her website, the key issues Randall aims to focus on include abortion rights, lowering costs for families, and climate change. #EmilyRandall #LatinaPolitician #Congress #119thCongress #LatinaPower #Poderosa #QueerLatina #QueerLatinaRepresentation #Que...
