Thirty-eight-year-old Brazilian soccer star Marta Vieira da Silva better known as Marta has won the first-ever FIFA Marta Award, named after the soccer legend herself, at FIFA’s “The Best” awards. The Marta Award was introduced at the start of this year as a tribute to her impact in women’s soccer and the soccer world at large. The FIFA award recognizes the best goal in women's soccer—this title celebrates Marta’s goal against Jamaica in a friendly game back in June.
