She can be a symbol of unconditional love, resilience, and cultural pride while also representing patriarchal values tied to purity culture, self-sacrifice, and traditional gender roles. For many, she embodies devotion and protection—but her image has also been used to uphold systems that marginalize women, queer folks, and those who defy societal expectations.
