We love seeing Latinx talent and representation make history, and that’s exactly what’s happening at the Golden Globes this year. Puerto Rican actress Liza Colón-Zayas has received her first nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television for her role on “The Bear” as Tina Marrero, and if she wins, she’ll become the first Latina to win the Golden Globes category. Additionally, Netflix’s musical crime film “Emilia Pérez,” starring Dominican-Puerto Rican actress Zoe Saldaña and Mexican-American actress Selena Gomez received 10 nominations, setting the Golden Globes record as the most nominated comedy or musical film in history. Saldaña and Gomez were both nominated for Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture for their roles.
