The Mexican Revolution began 114 years ago on November 20th when revolutionary and writer Francisco Madero launched a revolt against Mexican President Porfirio Díaz. Madero and other revolutionaries revolted to push back against President Diaz’s elitist and oligarchical policies as well as his 30-year-dictatorship over Mexico.
