I’m lucky, known pastrydiane of dianesplacemn fame forever it seems. From restaurant to restaurant I’ve followed her food and she is my friend. Has been for a long time. I was stunned when she didn’t win the beardfoundation pastry chef awards in years past. She’s THAT good. When Diane’s Place opened I was beyond excited. Most excited Ive been for any opening in recent memory because she’s a force, knows good food, is a thoughtful and complete thinker, a great leader and someone who makes delicious food. Bravo to raphael_brion foodandwine for recognizing this incredible strong human being (IYKYK) and her team with this nod. For me the 2 best restaurants of last year were somaekboston and Diane’s Place. Shows you the future of American dining doesn’t it!?! Also bucheronmpls won the JBFA for best new restaurant so now everyone should realize what we have going on here in Minnesota!
