Renée Rapp appears to have addressed the speculation on her sexuality following Betty Who’s appearance on the Made It Out podcast last month.
As part of a conversation about sexual fluidity and celebrities, Betty (real name Jessica Anne Newham), who identifies as bisexual and non-binary said: "Renée Rapp is like, 'You'll never catch me dating a man.' Like, 'Go off, queen. I love that for you!' But I also hold space for her in 10 years if she goes, 'Oops, I met the love of my life and it's this man, I didn't mean to.' It's like, that's OK!"
Fans received the comments as ‘lesphobic’, particularly given Renée’s current relationship with singer-songwriter Towa Bird.
