Sophie Turner is officially going to be the next Lara Croft in a new 'Tomb Raider' series helmed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Following in the footsteps of bi-con Angelina Jolie, the former 'Game of Thrones' star said she was "thrilled beyond measure" to be taking on the role.
In a statement, Waller-Bridge said: "I’m so excited to announce the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara alongside this phenomenal creative team.
"It’s not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. Everyone on board is wildly passionate about Lara and are all as outrageous, brave, and hilarious as she is. Get your artifacts out — Croft is coming.”
In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stoner, Turner alluded to her past same-sex experiences, and said she loves “a soul, not a gender", and in 2021 she celebrated Pride Month on her Instagram story by adding multiple stickers which read “time ain’t straight and neither am I”, and “bi Pride".
