When I was in the lab I spent weeks obsessed over mass efficiency… That measures how much weight a runner must lift and accelerate with every step. But why does it matter: Every extra gram is lifted thousands of times per run. Reducing shoe weight lowers total mechanical work. Conserves muscular energy and delays fatigue. And so I cracked the code and developed a daily runner that weighs 7.7oz and is ~30g lighter per shoe than the category average.
